Rob O'Hea
Website creator
Rob O'Hea is deeply passionate about human rights and social equality, values that have shaped both his life and the work he chooses to support. His grandfather, Daniel O'Sullivan from Gougane Barra in West Cork, was involved in the struggle for Irish independence and dedicated his life to fighting for the rights and dignity of Irish people. That spirit of justice and community inspired Rob to get involved with the PPP project, contributing his time and skills to support its mission of promoting fairness and social justice. His grandfather's example continues to remind him that meaningful change often comes from lending a hand where it's needed and supporting initiatives that make a positive difference.
With over thirty years' experience across Ireland and Europe, Rob has worked on a wide range of technology and design projects. He has led teams, guided projects, and helped create solutions that are practical, easy to use, and focused on people.
Mich Maroney
Mich is a visual artist, designer and writer. She is the founding editor of SWERVE, a literary and arts journal for new and emerging writers and artists from Ireland and internationally. The SWERVE project also comprises a writer and artist-in-residence programme, The Lit Lounge (a dedicated performance space for literature) and SWERVE Project Space that shows the work of young and emerging artists and non-mainstream visual art. SWERVE was founded in the belief that independent cultural initiatives are vital for the arts ecosystem, and that interconnectivity between creative disciplines results in new and exciting work. Interesting things happen when artists create their own spaces. Mich was born in Hong Kong, spent most of her adult life in London, UK and now lives and works in Skibbereen, West Cork, Ireland where SWERVE is based.
She was moved to create The Palestine Postcard Project after hearing the inspirational words spoken by members of the West Cork for Palestine Group, including Nasser Omar and Trish Lavelle, who have met to protest in Skibbereen from October 2023.
The Pale Blue Dot
In February 1990, NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft, then over 3.7 billion miles from Earth, captured a photograph of our planet as a tiny speck suspended in a sunbeam — the now-famous "Pale Blue Dot." From this tiny vantage in the vastness of space, Earth appears as just a fragile home floating in the cosmic darkness. Every boundary, every conflict, every division we create on this small planet is minuscule in the scale of the universe.
The fragility of our world reminds us that we share more than we differ. We all live together on this one planet, and our survival and well-being depend on mutual respect, understanding, and compassion.
In a time when human conflicts seem insurmountable, whether in Israel and Palestine or elsewhere, the Pale Blue Dot serves as a reminder: peace is not an abstract ideal, but a necessity. We are all stewards of this small, beautiful planet, and we must choose coexistence, empathy, and harmony over division.
Let this be a call to see beyond borders, to act with humanity, and to care for each other as fellow passengers on this pale blue dot.
